Investigating Students’ Satisfaction about the Effectivenessof e-Learning System: A Case Study of Postgraduate Students of CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar

Abstract

E-learning is becoming increasingly popular in academia in this era of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). In this COVID-19 pandemic period, elearning is getting popular in academia because there are no possibilities for classroom teaching as we all have to maintain social distancing. This paper discusses the e-learning concept, its advantages and disadvantages, and some important tools used in e-learning. The main aim of the current study is to know the satisfaction of postgraduate students about the effectiveness of the e-learning system. The study is conducted on postgraduate (PG) students (M.Sc. Agri.) of CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (India), who are currently enrolled in the noncredit course, i.e., Library and Information Services (Course Code: PGS-501) but mandatory for all the PG students to pass the exam for getting the master degree. The study found that more than 60% of the respondents were having good skills in using ICT applications and about 47.96% of the respondents were aware of the elearning method. During the investigation, it was also found that the majority of the respondents (84.56%) were preferred the classroom teaching method as compare to the e-learning method (15.44%). More than 47% of the respondents were not satisfied with the e-learning method as they were not feeling comfortable with the online mode of education.
