Abstract Background Sedentary lifestyle causes the majority of the medical problems in the world, neck and shoulder issue is one of them and this study intends to give finish of relationship of sedentary lifestyle with neck problem. The majority of the adolescent experience some occasion of neck issue sooner or later of their lifetime. Youth are the destiny of the world and it is seen that neck issues impedes their everyday life exercises. Stationary way of life is followed by a large portion of the adolescent viz. they are investing a large portion of their energy in sitting while not including themselves in moderate or profoundly escalated exercises. Purpose To find relationship of sedentary lifestyle with neck and shoulder. Methods Self-evaluated survey was gathered from 150 adolescents old enough 15–25 years from overall public of India. 501 took part in this investigation, of which the qualified young people were 150. the members partaken in sedentary way of life were incorporated for the examination viz. over seven hours of sitting in addition to inclusion of no actual work and whenever included then it was not gathering the limit of subject. Results 32% of adolescents was reported neck problem, 36% of adolescents was reported neck problem occasionally. 65% of adolescents was reported shoulder problem, 24% were having shoulder problem occasionally. Additional data were taken as 37% of adolescents using lying postures, 17% using lying posture more than sitting. 53% have their laptop screen below head level so they have to bend their neck while working and 58% were using mobile continuously. Conclusion Relationship of shoulder pain is high in sedentary lifestyle among adolescents (15–25 years) than neck problem. Adolescents should encourage to engage themselves into physical activity to reduce neck and shoulder problem. Future studies should continue investigating effect of different types of sedentary lifestyle on neck & shoulder problem.
