The humoral and cell mediated immune responses (CMIR) against Salmonella typhimurium ‘O’ antigen were estimated by indirect ELISA and DNCB (1-chloro, 2,4-di nitro choloro benzene) test, respectively. Antibodies raised in chicken against Salmonella typhimurium ‘O’ antigen showed slight elevation in antibody titer after the feeding of O. sanctum extract in comparison to control group on 7th day of primary immunization. But there was marked difference in antibody titer between O. sanctum fed and control group on 14th day of booster immunization. Further, in O. sanctum treated birds persisted for longer duration as compared to control. Top Keywords Ocimum sanctum, hot aqueous extract, immunomodulatory activity. Top |
