Abstract The investigators conducted a study to assess the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding polycysticovarian syndrome among adolescent girls in selected colleges at Nadiad city, Gujarat State”. The main objectives of the study were (1) To assess knowledge before & after administration of plan teaching programme regarding PCOS. (2) To find out association between the pre-test level of knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome with selected socio demographic variables. (3) To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding polycystic ovarian syndrome among adolescent girls. Pre experimental research approach was used with one group pre test post test design. The investigator used convenient sampling technique for selecting 40 samples. A structured knowledge questionnaire was prepared to assess knowledge of the samples. Reliability of structured knowledge questionnaire was ascertained by using Karl pearson s’ formula. Descriptive and inferential statistics used to analyze the data. The findings of the study revealed that there was significant association with pre-test knowledge and post-test knowledge with selected demographic variables. Planned teaching programme was prepared on Polycysic Ovarian Syndrome to help the adolescent girls to understand the disease condition and should adopt a preventive as well as curative approach.
