Online published on 26 April, 2017. Abstract The objective of the study is to compare the caregiver burden in psychiatric illness and chronic medical illness in selected hospitals at Ahmedabad. The sample size was 100 (50 suffering from pychiatric illness and50 suffering from chronic medical illness) were selected for the present study from the Aditya multi specialty hospital and GCS Hospital and research centre at Ahmedabad. The research design adopted was non experimental comparative research design. Caregivers burden was evaluate by using montegomery borgatta burden scale. ttest value was 2.36 (O.B), 3.17 (D.B), 6.65 (S.B). Degree of freedom (n1+n2-2) =98.
