Online published on 30 December, 2014. Abstract Three hundred numbers of BV- 300 day old chicks were distributed randomly in five dietary treatments. T1: Basal diet + Mineral mixture without any Zn supplementation, T2: T1+ inorganic zinc (ZnO) supplementation as per requirement, T3: T1+ nanoZnO @ 1/100th of Zn content in basal diet, T4: T1+ nanoZnO @ 1/500th of Zn content in basal diet, T5: T1+ nanoZnO @ 1/1000th of Zn content in basal diet. Supplementation of nano zinc particularly @ 1/500th level of basal dose in layer chicks diet improved (P<0.05) growth rate. There was increase in levels of serum glucose and alkaline phosphatase and a decrease in alanine amino transferase at this level of nano Zn supplementation.
