Animal Nutrition Division, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar-243 122, India Online published on 29 December, 2011. Abstract Biscuits prepared from a mixture of wheat flour, soyabean meal, meat meal, vegetable oil and minerals with adequate vitamins, were fed to five growing pups (6–8 weeks age) for a period of three weeks including a digestibility trial. The biscuit contained 94.27% OM, 33.77% CP, and 10.79% EE on dry matter basis. During digestibility trial, voluntary intake on sole feeding ranged from 5.55 to 7.37% of body weight (mean, 6.31±0.40). Based on average digestibility coefficient of nutrients the biscuit contained 28.49% DCP and 93.90% TDN on dry matter basis. During three weeks period pups consumed 61.7±0.5, 20.84±0.17, 17.58±0.13 and 57.6±14.7 g per kg W0.75 of DM, CP, DCP and TDN, respectively and supported an average daily body weight gain of 94±7 g which was considered to be optimum.
