Abstract Absolute conversion rates, digestion of nutrient and nutrient accretion by common carp fry fed with lucerne leaf (LF) meal, waste mulberry leaf (MF) meal and dried silkworm pupae (SF) meal based feeds were studied through a short term experiment. Food conversion (75.53%), conversion rate (5.42), digestion of protein (83.47%), fat (77.19%), ash (62.47%), fiber (82.10%) and WE (63.72%) were better for SF diet as compared to MF and LF. Accretion of DM (12.73%), protein (8.93), fat (34.54%), total ash (48.56%) and energy (11.98 kcal) were also highest with dried silkworm pupae meal based diet indicating that this diet was more digestible and assimilated better for common carp fry over MF and LF diets.
