The experiment was conducted to study the genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance as per cent of mean for yield and yield attributing traits in pumpkin genotypes in the Department of Horticulture, University Agricultural Sciences (GKVK), Bengaluru, Karnataka. The genotypes showed significant variation for all the characters. High heritability coupled with high GAM was observed for the characters like per cent fruit set, carotene content, days to 50 per cent female flowering, days to first male and female flower flowering, TSS, pulp thickness, weight of fruit and weight of seeds per fruit recorded high heritability coupled with high genetic advance indicating influence of additive gene action for these traits. But, the character number of leaves at 45 DAT recorded low heritability with high genetic advance.
