Abstract The seeds were treated with various concentrations of glyphosate, from 100 to 1600 ppm for 24 hrs. The germination percentage decreased with the increase in concentration of glyphosate. Similarly, the lengths of radicles and hypocotyls were also decreases in proportion to increase in concentrationof the herbicide. The radicles were more susceptible to herbicide than hypocotyls. In addition, there was suppression of lateral root formation and depletion of chlorophyll in cotyledons in glyphosate treated seedlings. The lethal dose for glyphosate was 1600 ppm Top Keywords Weed, Psoralea corylifolia, glyphosate, germination, hypocotyl, radicles. Top |
