Department of Agricultural Botany, Post Graduate Institute, Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, District- Ahmednagar-413722. Online published on 20 December, 2012. Abstract Influence of age of the seedlings and spacings on seed yield of rice under SRI (System of Rice Intensification) method of cultivation was studied during 2010–11. The 12 days old seedlings produced more number of productive tillers per plant at harvest as compared to 8, 15 and 20 days old seedlings. The younger seedlings (8 days old) flowered early, while 12 days old seedlings recorded higher seed yield per hectare(3.25 t/ha). Maximum seed yield per hectare was recorded when 12 days old seedlings were transplanted with a spacing of 25x25cm. Top Keywords Seedling age, spacing, productive tillers, seed yield. Top | |
