Characterization of silver nanoparticles synthesized by using Adathoda vesica and Catharanthus roseus leaves. Joshi Rohini, Aithal Shiva Department of Microbiology, Dyanopasak Shikshan Mandal, Parbhani, 431-401 (India) Online published on 26 March, 2024. Abstract Present study was undertaken on bio-synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNP) from 1mM aqueous AgNO3 using leaf extracts of Catharanthus roseus (periwinkle) and Adhatoda vesica (Adulsa), selected on the basis of their medicinal properties. Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles was confirmed by UVVis spectroscopy, Size and structure of AgNP were recorded by SEM, Secondary metabolites present in plant extract were determined by FTIR, which contained Tannic acid. Their medicinal properties were tested antimicrobial assays. Top Keywords Adhathoda vesica, Catharanthus roseus, UV-Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, SEM, Antimicrobial activity. Top | |
