Survey of Ganoderma lucidum in south India Raju J., Naik S. T. Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad-580 005, Karnataka (India) Online published on 1 May, 2014. Abstract Ganoderma is a basidiomycete fungal genus of both saprophytic and phytopahogenic species that occur worldwide which causes root rot in perennial crops. An exhaustive survey of different perennial crops was undertaken during 2010–2013. From the survey results it was observed that the highest per cent disease incidence (26.61) was recorded in Thirthahalli of Shimoga district of (Karnataka) and the least per cent disease incidence (3.14) was recorded in Pedavegi of west Godhavari district (AP) in oil palm and coconut plantations.
