The aim of the article is to highlight the importance of few natural teeth remaining in the oral cavity and also the fact that by applying the basic principles of “preventive prosthodontics”, how remaining natural teeth/root can successfully act as abutments to support Overdenture prosthesis. The case deals with a partially edentulous patient in which a “thorough intra-oral” examination was done and the teeth to be used as abutments, were assessed and a treatment plan formulate. The abutments were prepared after oral prophylaxis and restored with metal copings and a bar. The gold metal rider clip was used as a means for retention. The overdenture was successfully fabricated in heat cured hi-impact acrylic resin on these abutments. The results showed much better denture stability, improved retention and better patient acceptance.
