Online published on 26 October, 2012. Abstract India has been known to have rich diversity of plantssince time immemorial. There were various aihnents cured with the help of plants. This review has been prepared keeping in mind respiratory disease i.e. asthma, it is characterized by reversible airway obstruction, airway hyper responsiveness and airway inflammation. The goal of this article is to increase the awareness about importance of plants in medical field and prepare a list of plants used for treating asthma with special reference to Tylophora indica.
