Abstract This research article presents a technique of rapid manufacturing used in the improvement of a regenerative pump impeller. Regenerative pumps are the subject of increased interest in industry. The technique of Rapid manufacturing was used to make complex impeller blade profiles for testing as part of a regenerative pump optimization process such as few modified impeller blade profile, relative to the standard radial configuration, was manufactured by using Selective Laser Sintering for experimental testing method. The difficulty of the modified blade profiles would normally require the use of costly CNC machining with five axis capability. The manufacture of the complex blade profiles using conventional milling techniques is a considerable challenge for skilled machinists in industries.
