Abstract Climate response function has been estimated using regression model to examine the impact of climate change on crop productivity. Response of crop productivity of rice has been captured utilizing panel data for the period 1981–2010, using a production function. Impact of changes in mean maximum, mean minimum temperature and actual rainfall during crop growing period on yield of rice has been estimated at the overall state level in Andhra Pradesh. As climate is not the only variable influencing yield, other influencing input variables like irrigation, fertilizer consumption and labor inputs have been taken in to consideration to examine their relative effect.
