Abstract In this investigation the antibacterial activity of aqueous as well as alcoholic extracts of Allium cepa Linn were assayed with E. coli and Proteus vulgarius. These results suggest that Allium cepa is a potential spice for inhibiting the growth of bacterial. In this study the biochemical activity is also done.
