Abstract

Bioresorbable polymeric materials are emerging biomaterials to meet the demands in the biomedical field such as tissue engineering, drug delivery and wound healing applications. In this work, we focused on the biodegradable polymers with tunable properties for biomedical application. A polyol based crosslinked polyesters were synthesized by melt polycondensation. Xylitol, Maleic acid and the dicarboxylic acid such as succinic acid/sebacic acid were used for the synthesis of polymers by catalyst free melt polycondensation method. The synthesized polymers were characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR). The thermal stability of polymers was studied by Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
