Online published on 10 August, 2020. Abstract Photodegradation of Remazol Brilliant Blue (RBB) dye in aqueous RBB/TiO2 suspension by sunlight was observed as time dependent UV-Visible spectrum photodegradation. The absorption peak for RBB was found at 592 nm in visible region as well as the absorption of RBB dye shows dwindle trend with time and finally disappeared with the increase in irradiation time. The optimum time for the photodegradation of RBB dye was found to be 150 minutes as well as 98.77% of RBB dye was degraded after 150 minutes. The effect of photocatalyst concentration on photodegradation rate of RBB dye solution was investigated by varying concentration range of TiO2 from 0.10 to 1.10g/100mL, with dye concentration 0.20 to 1.25 mg/100 ml at pH 2.0 to 11.0 of RBB dye solution. The highest decrease in concentration of RBB dye solution was found for the 0.25 mg/100mL during 150 minute of radiation. The optimum catalyst concentration was found to be 0.50g/100 mL. pH of the suspension turned out to be an efficient factor for the photodegradation of RBB dye and the optimum pH was found to be 5.6.
