Abstract The term antioxidant is mainly used for two different groups of substances, industrial chemicals which are added to products to prevent oxidation, and natural chemicals found in foods and body tissue which are said to have beneficial health effects. The antioxidant activities of methyl and chlorine substituted 2-(2-alkyl/arylaminothiazol-5-oyl)-N-methylbenzimidazoles are studied using BHA as standard. The standard solution and the title compound were prepared with different concentration and a graph is plotted and from the graph the percentage reduction and IC50 value is calculated. Top Keywords Antioxidant, Benzimidazole, delocalization, control absorbance, inhibition, concentration, sample absorbance, DPPH, free radical. Top |
