Online published on 26 March, 2018. Abstract Silicasupported FeCl3 (SiO2-FeCl3) has been used as an efficient catalyst for rapid synthesis of quinoxalines at room temperature. Quinoxalines derivatives were synthesized from 1, 2-diamine and 1, 2-dicarbonyl compounds by one pot condensation using SiO2-FeCl3 in ethanol at room temperature. This protocol is simple, efficient and gives good to excellent yield. The synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR and mass spectroscopic analysis method.
