Abstract 2-(2-arylaminothiazol-5-oyl)benzofuran derivatives were obtained from 1-aryl-3-(N, N-dimethylimidoyl)thiourea and 2-(2-bromoacetyl)benzofuran in the presence of triethylamine. Their structures were established on the basis of IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectral analyses. All the novel compounds were screened for their antioxidant and antibacterial potential.
