Online published on 17 October, 2017. Abstract In this article, silica supported copper(II) nitrate [Cu(NO3)2.3H2O] reagent has been prepared and characterized by FT-IR and SEM-EDS. This reagent was employed for the nitration of aromatic compounds. The nitrated products have been obtained in 69–95% yield in short reaction time at room temperature.
