Body mechanics involves the coordinated effort of muscles, bones, and the nervous system to maintain balance, posture, and alignment during moving, transferring, and positioning patients. Proper body mechanics allows individuals to carry out activities without excessive use of energy and helps prevent injuries for patients and health care providers.

A pre experimental research approach with pretest and post test design was used. The study included thirty GNM internship students who were selected by convenient sampling technique. The study was conducted in Baba Farid College of Nursing, Kotkapura. A structured knowledge questionnaire and self report method were used for data collection. The Pilot study was done for its clarity, unambiguity and feasibility on similar subject. Differential and inferential statistics were used to analyze data.
