Online published on 18 October, 2016. Abstract Presently we are surrounded with various environmental and social problems. Corporate Social Responsibility is a step to solve these problems. Corporate Social Responsibility is an old concept in India, since 1800’s it has been practiced by the Indian organizations. At present the CSR implies that companies should voluntarily incorporate social and environmental concerns in their operations. CSR (environmental protection) is a powerful tool which not only enhances the brand image and reputation of the business, but helps to retain their employees and to get sustainable development in the long run. Today it's a prime responsibility of an organization to contribute for CSR. The employees of an organization play a crucial role in the implementation and follow up of CSR activities. But this paper will focus on the key role of Human Resource Management in achieving the CSR objectives. As Human Resource Managers plays a very vital role in facilitating and achieving the organizations objective. For the mandate integration of CSR HR's communicate and implement ideas, policies and cultural and behavioral change in an organizations. This research is an attempt to explore the role of HR in facilitating CSR activities on environmental protection in an organization. The emphasis will be to know the measures taken by the HR department to protect our environment. Further few Private and Public Organizations of Chhattisgarh have been selected for this study. Both primary and secondary data will be collected from various sources.
