Abstract

This paper describes the utility of gabion structures in black soil region, particularly for their effectiveness in controlling and stabilizing gullies and their utility as inlet and outlet structures for water harvesting tanks. In many ways, these structures have been found as effective as permanent structures but very cost effective as compared to the latter.
