Comparative analysis of traditional and SRI method of rice cultivation and its adoption behaviour in Tamil Nadu Abirami P, Senthilnathan S Agricultural College and Research Institute, Killikulam-628252, Tamil Nadu Online published on 5 December, 2018. Abstract The study does a comparative analysis of traditional vs SRI (system of Rice Intensification) and farmers’ adoption behavior regarding the SRI method of rice cultivation in Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu. A Cobb-Douglas production function was employed for the purpose. The analysis shows that the coefficient of FYM, nitrogen, potassium, human labour and machine hours were positive and statistically significant implying their positive contribution to the yield under SRI method.
