Abstract An experiment was conducted to study the effect of replacing maize with broken rice in diet on growth performance of broilers. Three hundred, one day old commercial broiler chicks fed with diets replacing 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100 per cent of maize with broken rice on weight by weight basis. Although, no significant differences were noticed on body weight at eight weeks of age, birds fed on the diet with 75 per cent replacement of maize with broken rice recorded 9.8 per cent higher body weight than the control. Feed consumption and feed efficiency did not show any significant variation among treatments. Top Key words Broken rice, broiler, growth performance. Top |
