Nutritive Value of Banyan(Ficusbengalensis) Tree Leaves in Male Black Bengal Goats Mondal T., Chakraborty N., Mandal L. Department of Animal Nutrition, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia-741 252, India Online published on 29 December, 2011. Abstract Fresh Banyan (Ficus bengalensis) tree leaves were solely fed to o healthy male Black Bengal goats having an average live weight of 7.62±0.32 kg. The voluntary DM intake was found to be 3.59 ± 0.07 kg/100 kg body weight. Banyan tree leaves were found to contain 3.81±0.21% DCP and 49.78±1.03% TDN on DM basis. Ail the experimental animals were on posiitve N, Ca and P balances, though $$ loss in body weight waa soted. Hence, the ration must be supplemented with some amount of concentrate mixture for proper maintenance of the goats. Top | |
