Plants have important role in Indian medicinal systems as well others nature based systems. The ethno botanical pharmacology is old and passes from ancient time. The important of plants medicines are they do not shows side effects as such of chemical molecules. Present paper focus on one of the important Indian plant which shows no. of pharmacological activity i.e. Calotropis procera. Its phytochemical and pharmacological properties are described. The use of the plants, plant extracts, and pure compounds isolated from natural sources has always provided a foundation for modern pharmaceutical compounds. Another variety of plant is Calotropis gignata which also shows pharmacological properties.
