Abstract

Studies on moth emergence pattern of Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) in the cotton ecosystem indicated that on an average 60.31 to 73.73 per cent moths emerged during different weeks. From the pupae formed during 46th standard week (i.e. during November) two moths emerged after 109 and 115 days of pupation, indicating the presence of winter pupal diapause. Rate of moth emergence increased after the rains when mean relative humidity reached around 70 per cent and mean temperature around 27°C.
