A study to determine contributing factors towards delayed health seeking behaviours among university students

Abstract

There is a growing literature on health seeking behaviours and the determinants of health services utilization especially in the developing countries.

Was to understand the contributing factors of physical activity and dietary patterns towards delayed health seeking behaviour of the university students.

A purposive sampling technique was used to collect data from the samples. The samplesize was 60 university students. A self-administered questionnaire was used as the tool.

Majority of adolescents 30(50%) were having good health and 30(50%) were having poor health related to physical activity. Majority of adolescents 26(43.3%) were having good health, 21(35%) were having average health and 13(21.7%) were having poor health. The associations of contributing factors towards delayed health seeking behavior with that of socio-demographic data were found to be significant at 0.05 levels.
