Abstract

Citrus fruits are among the most consumed fruits worldwide because of their stimulating flavor and beneficial health properties. This study was designed to formulate the appropriate concentrations of plant growth regulators and activated charcoal for micropropagating lemons. In the present work, both direct and indirect organogenesis was used to successfully regenerate Citrus limon in vitro. With the help of 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP) alone or in combination with -Naphthalene Acetic Acid (NAA), callus was activated and multiplied from leaf explants of in vitro grown seedlings on Murashige and Skoog (MS) media for indirect organogenesis.
