Abstract

Economic parameters of silkworm viz., Disease incidence (%), weight of 10 matured larvae (g), effective rate of rearing (ERR) (%), single cocoon weight (g), single shell weight (g), cocoon-shell ratio (%), cocoon yield per 10, 000 brushed larvae (Kg), silk filament length (m), silk filament weight (g) and denier of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) fed on mulberry(Morus alba) leaves treated with various concentrations of nutritional ingredients, were determined. The economic parameters of silkworm (Bombyx mori L.) enhanced due to supplementation with 0.2% ascorbic acid.(Vit. C). Leaves treated with NPK along with ascorbic acid (Vit. C) can be used to increase the silk yield in commercial silkworm rearing.
