Abstract

In no-choice method, oviposition, seed damage, development period and adult emergence of Callosobruchus maculatus were assessed in 31 Vigna mungo var. silvestris accessions along with a local check. Reduced oviposition (0.15–1.00 eggs/seed), less seed damage (3.0–3.5%), low adult emergence (4.00–5.00 nos) and prolonged development period (61.0 days) was noticed in the wild accessions. The local check VBN 3 showed more seed damage (95.0%), maximum adult emergence (47.0) and less development period (44.0 days).
