A new series of 4-chloro-2-phenyl quinoline derivatives were synthesized and tested for antibacterial activity. O-nitro acetophenone and various substituted benzaldehyde were used to synthesize 4-chloro-2-phenyl quinoline derivatives. The structures of the newly synthesized derivatives have been confirmed on the basis of Spectral data. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against strains viz.
