Studies on Antibacterial Compounds from Methanolic Extracts of Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) fruits from Algeria
Abstract
The objective of this research is to find a natural chemical compounds alternative available and free of side effects and high-impact effective against many bacterial strains. The crude methanol extracts of five date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L) fruits (DPF) were tested for antibacterial action against bacterial strains, the methanol extracts showed good antibacterial activity against all isolates Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa), Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). Where E. coli showed a high sensitivity to the Gh extract with inhibition value 13.667 mm, while P. aeruginosa showed a high sensitivity to the DB extract with inhibition value 10.667 mm and S. aureus showed a high sensitivity to the Tns extract with inhibition value 13.000 mm.
