Abstract

The present study investigation is aimed to evaluate the phytochemical screening and in vitro anti-inflammatory activities by inhibition of protein denaturation method by egg albumin and bovine serum method. P. atlantica Desf plant belongs to the Anacardiaceae family, which has been employed in traditional medicine for the treatment of various diseases such as stomach, antipyretic, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory. the leaves and fruits of P.atlantica were macerated and extracted successively by using chloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butanol. The extracts were concentrated, the activities were carried on using the following concentration (0.3125, 0.625, 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10mg/ml) and compared with Diclofenac sodium as standard anti-inflammatory drug. the extracts of P.atlantica possesses marked anti-inflammatory activity in vitro. it is concluded that the extract of P.atlantica can be used as a potent anti-inflammatory several application.
