Abstract The significant asset of a person or a nation is money. In this regard, the circulation and regulation of money is most important thing to be kept in mind by the regulator. After the second generation reforms, there was a dimension change in the polices and rules regarding banking sector. For the betterment of any economy, banking sector plays a significant role. Therefore, in such perspective it is important to check such type of performance for further sustainable growth. This study analyses the financial performance of the selected banks. The study covers the time period of 2012–13 to 2016–17. Financial positions of the selected 10 public sector banks at the end of these five financial years are analyzed. CAMEL Model is used to rank the banks according to their financial performances. Only Indian Bank has performed consistently high on CAMEL Model parameters (four parameters).
