Abstract Mental health and adjustment ability are the most important and changeable factors of overall development of an individual mainly in adolescent periods. Lack of mental health and adjustment ability expressed lack of emotional stability, social and educational instability, lack of autonomy, impersonality etc of adolescents. The present investigation aims to compare the mental health and adjustment ability of schedule caste secondary students in relation to their gender. A sample of 300 students of Tufanganj subdivision was drown, adopting simple random and stratified sampling techniques and Mental Health Inventory by Dr. Jagdish and Adjustment Inventory by Dr. D. N. Srivastava and G. Tiwari. The t-test used for finding the significance difference of mental health and adjustment ability of schedule caste secondary students. The study revealed that there were no significant differences of different dimensions of mental health and adjustment ability of SC secondary student except autonomy of mental health.
