Abstract At secondary level generally students spent their vital time within a school premises, and they make their own decision as per the demand of the situation. In this regard Attitude plays a crucial role in order to maintain their school activity as well as the productivity throughout the life span. Now a day's classroom participation becomes a necessary requirement in various courses. In this context the present paper seeking out the attitude of secondary students towards mathematics classroom participation. The objectives were, (i) To study and compare the Students' Attitude towards Mathematics Classroom Participation in relation to the Gender and (ii) To study and compare the Students' Attitude towards Mathematics Classroom Participation in relation to the Location of Schools. To establish the six null hypotheses, 201 Bengali medium secondary students under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education were selected randomly from six different schools in Paschim Medinipur district, West Bengal, India. A tool was constructed and standarised for the required data collection, descriptive statistics and t-test used for data analysis. Study revealed that Location of schools has an almost medium effect on students' attitude towards mathematics classroom participation and Habitat of boy students has medium effect on students' attitude towards mathematics classroom participation. The implication of this study can be used to enhance the students' attitude towards mathematics classroom participation.
