Abstract Growth of a nation lay in the hands of great leaders. Effective and efficient leaders are shaped only from the well functioning of schools. Thus, effectual functioning of schools depends on professional commitment of teachers. Commitment of teachers depends upon their job satisfaction. Hence, in this research paper an attempt has been made to identify the factors that contribute to job satisfaction of teachers on their work performance and determining job satisfaction differences by age, sex and working experience among teachers in public secondary schools. The present study has been carried out among public higher secondary school teachers at Gurgaon region. In this research, sample of eighty six teachers from ten different schools were examined. The obtained data were analyzed based on the descriptive statistics using SPSS Version 16. Independent sample t-test has been used in this study to analyze the job satisfaction on work performance level among teachers of public higher secondary schools. The result of study discloses that job satisfaction of teachers depends on salary, working time, professional growth, training, job security etc. Top Keywords Job Satisfaction, Teachers, School, Quality of education.
