Abstract

A rapid increase in NPA during the last decade resulted in the collapse of many banking institutions across the world. Internal governing factors of banks are possibly, responsible for current level of NPAs. The management of NPA is very essential for survival of banks. Supervision and follow up are the two sides of the same coin. A proper follow up after lending is required to check any change in risk category, if initially fixed will enable timely recovery. The present study focusses on the trend of Non Performing Assets in Public Sector Banks.
