The occurrence of quotations differs between disciplines, and writers need to comply with the conventions in their specific area. When used, quotations must be easily integrated into the textual content. Writers want to ensure that they do now not quote too much and too often. Quotations ought to additionally be contextualized, well introduced and identified. Writers should make certain to quote in a manner that does not misrepresent the quoted text. Kamala Markandaya's strength as a novelist comes from her sensitive advent of person characters and conditions which can be simultaneously representative of a bigger collective. In this paper made an attempt of analysis of quotations in Kamala Markandeya novels.
