A novel approach for denoising of noisy image using multiscale morphological processing

Abstract

Multi-scale operation has been one efficient way to improve the performance of top-hat transform. The aim is appropriately organizing and using multi-scale top-hat transform to extract the multi-scale image features. In this paper, an algorithm based on morphological processing for enhancing grey scale images is suggested. The results demonstrate that proposed method has improved contrast both in objective as well as subjective manner. The proposed method in comparison to other methods gives better results in terms of various quality metrics used in algorithm.
