Indian Securities Market & Participatory notes: A corporate quandary Mathur Harshita, Student National Law Institute University, Bhopal, MP. Abstract The term Participatory Notes or ‘p-notes’ was not very well known to everyone in the country until recent past but owing to the turmoil it has created in the stock market, it has now become a topic of heated debate and more of an international phenomenon. The Indian regulators-SEBI, RBI and the Finance ministry are pressed against time and pitted against counter views and opinion divides. Indian stock market after being tagged as ‘booming’ is experiencing a common predicament of management of floating funds, particularly those routed through p-notes. The following paper is an attempt by the researcher to demystify the controversy and discuss the impact and recent regulation in the Securities market of our country-the growing India. Top | |
