Abstract Energy security for the mankind is the greatest need of the era. Clean and green fuel from renewable resources is the solution to various problems. Corn has the promising potential for the production of ethanol that can be blended into petrol. The efficient hydrolysis of corn through amylase is essential for the whole process. The optimal parameters of enzyme action require the change of reaction conditions. Present study is to optimize the enzyme dose, time, concentration, dry substance concentration for maximum saccharification. The two-step saccharification process seems to be very effective in the absence of calcium. Top Keywords ethanol, enzyme, hydrolysis, saccharification, maize. Top |
