Abstract Sweet flag Acorus calamus (L.) is a precious medicinal plant possessing abortifacient,odontalgic, aphrodisiae, carminative, diaphoretic adnodyne, emmenagogue, stimulant, sedative, febrifuge, hallucinogenic, homeopathic, vermifuge properties. Plants were found suffering from foliar blight disease. Disease starts from the tip of leaf and gradually increases to cover entire leaf. Finally leaves appear as burnt and turn brown and soon disintegrate. Isolation from disease portion yielded Fusarium oxysporum (Schl.).Pathogenicity test was done to prove Koch's postulate. Search of available literature reveals that it is the first report from Bahraich (U.P.). The infected sample was submitted in H.C.I.O, I.A.R.I., New Delhi and the assign no. is H.C.I.O.-47906 (Holotype), BRH.1609; NA.0102 (Isotype).
