Abstract Antibacterial activity of a therapeutic pteridophyte Adiantum lunalantum against pathogenic bacterial species Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi and Staphylococcus aureus, has been studied here. Different concentrations of diluted and undiluted extracts inhibited growth of all test organism in vitro. The summer collection of test material produce best result. The inhibitory effect of these extracts was also compared with one unit strength of antibiotic tetracycline. The inhibitory power of one unit strength tetracycline was however, slightly higher than undiluted extract. Top Keywords Antibacterial, Adiantum lunalantum. Top | |
